Jorge Luis Salinas, Peruvian fashion designer, has emerged as a prominent figure in the South American fashion scene, earning significant recognition on an international level. In Peru, he is revered as the “Pride of Gamarra,” a tribute to the Peruvian textile emporium where he honed his craft and refined his talent in design.

His passion for fashion led him to study fashion design at the prestigious Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science in the United States. There, he had the opportunity to immerse himself in the creative and technical environment of fashion, developing a unique and innovative vision in the industry.

His efforts and dedication have been rewarded with significant achievements, including winning the international Inter Jeans Men’s Fashion Week competition in Cologne, Germany, and at Gen Art in New York. These recognitions placed Jorge Salinas in the spotlight of the international fashion scene, confirming his expertise in the field.

In 2016, Jorge Salinas founded his brand J.SALINAS, bringing his creative vision to the runways of New York Fashion Week. His boldness and talent caught the attention of the media and buyers worldwide, opening doors to prestigious partnerships and collaboration opportunities. His designs and garments were subsequently showcased in the esteemed Macy’s department stores until 2021.

In February 2024, after a brief break from the market, Jorge Luis Salinas returns to the runway to present the Fall-Winter 2024/25 collection during Milan Fashion Week.

The vibrant colors and delicate lines present in his creations have received positive feedback, reaffirming the designer as an innovative artist with a clear vision that weaves a captivating and original story into each of his creations.

The fabrics used are exquisite and adorned with colorful and intricate embroidery, celebrating the craftsmanship of Andean weavers. Alpaca wool, silk organza, cotton canvas, and calfskin are the primary materials, chosen to highlight the local heritage and cultural richness of Peru.

The light and flowing silhouettes lend the looks an ethereal elegance and a refined quality. Each garment is a work of art that creates harmonious movements, captivating the viewer’s gaze.

Thanks to collaboration with Andean weaving committees, J.SALINAS incorporates Peru’s authenticity into his collections, forging meaningful connections with local communities. The artisans from the provinces of Huancayo, Puno, Huancavelica, and Moquegua, with their skill and expertise in traditional techniques, ensure a genuine and distinctive creation process, enriching each piece with a unique story.
